How do I know what drone is right for me?

That is, indeed, a very good question! We’ve included thorough product descriptions and ‘this drone is great for…’ highlights for each of the drones listed in our online shop to help you find just the right model for you.

That being said, we know it can be tough to choose just one! We encourage you to buy all of our drones to solve this dilemma. Okay, just kidding. Consider these questions when browsing our range:

 

Who’s it for?

A beginner’s model makes sense for kids or hobbyists who have never flown a drone before. If you’re looking for a fun gift for the whole family, consider the skill level of your youngest or least-experienced user.

 

Does size matter?

Despite popular opinion, size most definitely does matter. At least, when it comes to drones. Ahem. Again, this comes down to preference and who will be using it, but generally speaking, larger drones are usually more stable for cameras and easier to fly for beginners, while smaller drones are better for portability, and cause far less damage if they’re ever likely to be flown indoors.

 

Camera, video and storage

If you’re looking for a drone that can take video footage and photos, you’ll want to consider things like photos and video resolution and quality, as well as file storage. Do you just want to take some fun photos of the family on holiday, or are you looking for high-resolution video of New Zealand’s sweeping landscapes? Do you want your files stored on a memory card that you can then download to your laptop, or synched straight to your smartphone via an app?

 

Other things to consider

How far do you want to be able to fly the drone? Do you want a drone with rechargeable batteries, or single-use batteries? Do you want a drone that features altitude hold, allowing you to fly at a fixed height? Are you looking for a drone with ‘one key return’, which allows your drone to return to you with the press of a button?

 

How much does shipping cost?

We offer FREE shipping New Zealand wide on all orders valued $100 or more. Orders under $100 will incur a flat shipping fee of $10.

 

How will my order be delivered?

We deliver all orders via track-and-trace courier. Please note we cannot deliver to a PO Box.

 

How long until my order arrives?

Your order will be dispatched within 2 business days of receipt of payment. Shipping times can depend on stock availability, but generally you can expect to receive your order within 2 weeks. We’ll send you an email notification once your order has been shipped – including a tracking code so you can track the progress of your order with our courier.

 

Can I change my order or postal address?

If you need to add or change an item in your order, or you wish to change your shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible. We will not be able to change order or shipping details for orders that have already been processed and shipped.

 

What if my order arrives damaged?

We do our best to ensure the safe transport of your order – all product packaging is quality checked prior to shipping to safeguard against our customers receiving faulty goods. In the unlikely event your order is damaged in transit, please contact us ASAP with a photo and description of the damage so we can assist you with a replacement or refund.

 

Do you offer a guarantee on products?

Absolutely! We are happy to offer a 1-year guarantee on all of our products in accordance with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act. Please note this does not cover general wear – including crashing your drone due to user error. All refunds and replacements are at the discretion of The Drone Zone, however we will do everything we can to ensure you are happy with your purchase, shop with us again, and recommend us to your friends!
